Washington State Bank was originally chartered in 1932 in Washington, Iowa. Our bank proudly remains today a predominately locally owned institution. The bank offers many fine products and services to a diverse client base and has been the leader in the financial sector in Washington County for the last 50 years. Our bank has been doing trust business since 1932 and is a well-respected institution across the state.
The Washington State Bank is located in Washington, Iowa, the county seat of Washington County.
The Washington State Bank is locally owned and operated. The effect of this form of ownership is extensive. The board develops policies that are sensitive to the needs of the area without compromising sound banking principles. We know our customers and respond quickly to their needs. Our profits stay in the community in the form of dividends and additions to the bank's equity capital. We are often relied upon to provide leadership for special community causes and thus contribute many service hours and extensive financial support annually.
Probably the biggest effect of local ownership is growth. Our stockholders continually send referrals to us. You do not need to be referred in order to cultivate a relationship. Please accept this message as your invitation. You can join us by requesting information on products and services through our e-mail address.
We are also very proud of our staff. Our bank officers average more than 20 years of banking experience, most of which has been with the Washington State Bank.
Our future looks very bright. We have just completed an extensive facilities renovation project and are making major commitments to the Trust Department and the Investment Center. New products include our own credit card program, debit cards, and through this web site, Internet banking.
In summary, we are very proud and feel very fortunate to be a part of this rural community of over 7,000. Incidentally, Washington was selected as one of the top 100 small towns in America. We intend to do our part to keep it there. Join us today! Our future never looked better.
Washington State Bank
"celebrate the spirit of your hometown."
